Job summary
The accounting technician plays an essential role within the accounting team, ensuring the continuity of financial operations, particularly during vacation and absence periods. This position requires great versatility, mastery of accounting processes, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Proficiency in Excel is essential, as is a good understanding of accounts receivable
Your responsibilities
- Prepare daily invoicing and validate shipments based on delivery notes.
- Make bank deposits and record receipts (checks, transfers, credit cards) in the accounting system (SAP or other).
- Process Amazon sales: create invoices, process credit notes, manage cash receipts, and reconcile monthly fees.
- Manage the accounts receivable email inbox during absences.
- Support the accounts receivable technician as required.
- Prepare monthly tax reports.
- Produce sales reports for financial analysis.
- Participate in special projects, such as tax audits.
- Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Ensure continuity of accounts payable operations during team absences.
- Support the accounts payable technician as required.
- Scan and file financial documents.
- Participate in updating accounting files and archives.
- Perform any other necessary administrative or accounting tasks.
Required skills and qualifications
- Diploma in accounting (DEC, AEC) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Excel (intermediate to advanced level).
- Good understanding of accounting processes (invoicing, collections, reconciliations).
- Knowledge of SAP (an asset).
- Organizational skills, autonomy, rigor, and attention to detail.
